Hey I finally managed to put the time in to purchase a wifi card. I'm going to be traveling so I'm going to need wireless. The problem is I have no ideas which wires I connect to the tip of the card. There is a gray wire from the top part and many black wires from the bottom. This is my first time doing this so bear with me  , I setup the rest of the laptop but not this. Model m570ru-u

On my Dell, there's a wiring harness for the antenna system consisting of a white, grey, and black wire. The grey wire connects to the centre post, while the white and black can connect to either.

Ok I just tried installing it, then booted up. My Network adapter wasn't being recognized neither my wireless card. Then I took out my wireless card and now network adapter for ethernet cable is being recognized. The cables were numbered so I put them in by number. Any ideas why it isn't working?

If its not picking up the network card itself, then you have a defective i4965 or you have a defective motherboard. The card should be recognized without the antennas even being connected.

Hmm, I mean its obviously doing something by randomly blocking my Realtek ethernet drivers then it magically reappears after I take it out.

Anybody else have any ideas as to why it blocks out my ethernet adapter and not being recognized itself? Should it recognize it by itself or do I have to do "scan for new hardware" which I already have done and nothing showed up.

Still can't figure it out. Would a bios update fix this or a different wifi card?
