Will the Intel 4965 connect at N speeds to this router. I've read saying it connected but not that it connects at 300mbps. Can anyone confirm this?

I have a Belkin Pre-N router, and I cannot get full 108Mbps on it with my 4965ABGN. I think it's because the pre-N spec isn't consistent. D-link has been actively updating their firmware, I know, so you might expect better results on the DIR-655.

By the way, in my experience, the DIR-655 is the best router out there. If it can't get you N-speeds when updated to the newest firmware, then nothing will.

I have the DIR 655 and 4965AGN, I connect at 130mbps, Im not sure if this is because Im using a older notebook and only have 2 out of 3 antennas connected.

-When I say connects at 130mbps I mean if you click on network status it shows 130mbps, So its probally only going at half that at best.

I dont think the belkin was updateable to v2.0. I could be wrong. I'll test out my intel card when it come is in a week or two and let u know what i get. I have my router set for all mode a,b,g,n and I have a d-link notebook card and it connects consistantly at 300mbps even with wpa personal enabled..

Belkin hardware are not know for reliability. I no longer recommend them. I had a few friends that had them. Worked less than a day, before it need to be rebooted. Then at times it would lockup so bad a reboot would not clear it. He finally bounced it off a wall, and bought something else, non Belkin, cleared up his problems.

You only want hardware that comes preloaded with v2. If so you have a better chance that it may (may) work with the finalized spec in 2008. There is no guaranteed it will then. The reason I do not buy or recommend pre 11n spec hardware.

    Hi,
I'm running the Intel 4965 in an 1 1/2 yr. old e1505 that I installed another antenna in, with the DIR-655, and Vista. Task manager in Vista shows the connection at 130Mbps.The fastest I've ever seen it was 78%. Had the Linksys WRT300N v1 and it never came close to that utilization.
The advertised max speed is just that, maximum in a perfect enviroment, in other words;a lab.:GEEK:
