I did a fresh install on of Windows XP Pro on my T61P, but my Intel wireless card does not find any networks to connect to. I'm 2 feet away from my router  . It doesn't find any of the nearby networks it used to display either. I installed the appropriate driver ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70504) and according to my device manager it is working properly. Any advice with this issue is greatly appreciated. Oh, I also tried using a previous release of the driver to no avail.

all of the appropo device drivers loaded? Do you have any yellow question marks in Device Manager (show hidden devices).

I've updated the Bios and made sure that all Network capabilities where "Enabled," however the issue is still the same :( :( :(

In the device manager properties for the device, go to the details tab and the Hardware ID pulldown. What are the four digit codes for 'Ven' and 'Dev'?

Ven 8086, Dev 4227. Do you think it's a hardware failure?

Just checking to make sure you have the model right

I would doubt a hardware failure, since it happened when you reinstalled Windows. That would be an odd coincidence. But you could boot into an Ubuntu Live CD to test that, as it should work there without modification.

Try removing the driver through the device manager and rebooting. Repeat until it stops detecting the hardware and installing a driver. It may have a couple versions cached if you've tried more than one. Then try the driver directly from Intel. This is a direct download link.

Oh, and you haven't accidently toggled the hardware switch, have you? And I don't use Windows on my Thinkpads much, so this is pulled directly from my ***, but do you have the Lenovo Hotkeys and ACPI packages installed? The hardware switch isn't entirely hardware, it's actually interfaced in software as an ACPI event, so you might need one or both of those.

I'll give your suggestions a go. I'm not exactly sure what you mean if I accidentally toggled the hardware switch. I do have both Lenovo Hotkeys and ACPI packaes installed. Are you saying I might have 'turned off' my card via hotkeys?

Yeah, there's a hardware slider on the front, and fn-f5 brings an applet to choose between bluetooth and wifi radio options.
