    Hey,

I have just reinstalled Windows XP Home edition, and am having trouble setting up my wireless card. The Intel 3945 was installed correctly initially, using the Dell stock drivers. Now however, it just wont work.

As you can see, Windows does know the card is there, and can search for access points. However, when I try to connect (and yes, I have the correct WPA password. I reset the password just to be sure) it just doesn't do anything.

Is anyone aware of any bugs with the 3945's drivers? Or any other possible solutions?

    Cheers,

    Lachlan

Not sure if this is used with the 3945 ( I have 1390), but do you still have the Dell Wireless Utility installed?
Mine wouldn't work without it. If it does come with yours, and you have it installed, open and make sure it has the "Radio Enabled" button enabled and any others that may apply. I use the windows wireless connection too, but it wouldn't work without this.

    good luck

Yeah, The Intel PROset thing (equivalent) was installed along with the drivers. I just ended up reformatting the computer, and it seems to have fixed itself.

Since the update, do you think the 3945 software package is worth it? I downloaded it awhile ago and I remember it being bloated -- and not doing much for WiFi in general -- but read somewheres else that someone said it was better than XP handeling wireless?
