Does anyone know if you can use a wireless card sold at one service provider for another network? For instance im purchasing a T60 but will the integrated antenna only work with verizon wireless (I already have sprint). And what if you are in an area where coverage is privided by one service ex Cingular or Verizon, but your card is Sprint bought?

Have you tried calling Sprint to ask about this ? :

I'm interested in Integrated (+separate) EVDO cards and ISP's as well so let us know..

Sprint will probably give you a card if you sign up for their service but I'd like to know if there's a way to get them working as seamlessly as possible across networks if possible (with minimal roaming charges).

Buying an integrated EVDO card is a mistake now I think unless you plan on keeping the laptop for a very short time or the laptop is otherwise a great deal but doesn't have a pcmcia slot.

Sprint has announced starting EVDO REV A next year which will further increase bandwidth and reduce latency. The cards today and those integrated will not work with EVDO ReV A. These new Rev A cards by Sierra and the Merlin 720 were just announced this month and will be released late this year. If it were me I would stick with an easily replaceable piece of equipment. Either way though upgrading will cost you.
