Hey, just received my T61 thinkpad and regretting that I didn't have them install bluetooth. Is it possible to install a module after production and if so, can someone tell me how I can do it (or point me in the guide direction)?

    Thanks!

. can (sometimes) be done, depending on the casing and the "unused" button
. too much hassle (taking the system apart, wiring antenna, ...)
    . voiding ur warranty
. search the net for "bluetooth laptop diy" and see what u get back

    cheers ...

i would think you can buy the bluetooth module and just shove it into wherever it typically goes. you just gotta see where the r61's bluetooth plug is, and make sure that yours has that port and that its open. i'd say that's the only hard part. the module can be bought, possibly on ebay even like dell ones are. bluetooth wouldn't have wires since its short-range unlike wifi, and the software (and possibly a needed bios) are on their website.

so, start off by seeing if someone did the upgrade here themselves after initially opting out like you did. if all else fails, there are bluetooth adapters the size of the logitech vx nano receiver
