Installing Bluetooth module in HP pavilion dv 4320us laptop

I have a hp pavilion dv 4320us model notebook pc. It has pre-installed WLAN but with no internal bluetooth module. So, I want to installed an internal bluetooth module by purchase. Can anybody tell me whether is it possible or not ? or can I use the " 54g(TM) Integ. Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN & Bluetooth " module for the purpose in my pavilion dv 4320us model ?

 

HP uses a BIOS block/whitelist for their wireless. So that card will most likely physically fit (minipci, right?), but then it will refuse to boot because of the BIOS. There are tricks you can do, but it will most likely be too much hassle. Try looking up if there were other dv4000's that came with bluetooth, if so then there is a bluetooth slot somewhere waiting to be filled.

 

You don't need anything special- just find the DV4000 bluetooth module (try an ebay search, and narrow it by checking in "parts") There is one module that ALL the HP's use- it's all the same module- same one that Dell uses and Toshiba as well, as I recall...

IF your model is on here, it can plug in simply by removing a panel and plugging the card's power into a tiny wire-jack. Some models need the wire as well, but most don't. You'll have to check your model and manual (or DL the manual in the support section of HP's site!) to see if your model also needs the wire and where to install the module.
