My connection seems to have spikes and dead spots with it's connection. Like if I watch a youtube video half of it will load almost instantly and then it will delay like 1 minute and then finish loading. This happens when downloading files and browsing the internet. BitMeter shows that the DL speed will be very high and then just stop for moments. Downloads seem to always need paused and then started again to get them to move. What could be my problem? The signal strength is full.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't have any issues when I am hard wired. These problems only happen when I am wireless.

    System specs,

    Lenovo 4186
    p7450
    4GB
    nvidia 240m 1GB
    win 7
    5100 wifi
    netgear g router

Sounds like a router problem. Maybe overheating. Maybe needs firmware update. Maybe dying. If you can, swap out the router for another (borrow one) and see if problem disappears.

Could be overheating as stated or firmware.

Another common issue, especially being a Netgear router, it may have a cheap power supply. As it heats up and sends more, it uses more power and may be using more than the power block can supply.

Cheap power blocks are well known for this type of behavior. You can up the amperage by 1 or 2 amps and not worry. Be sure to keep the same voltage.
