OK! I am dumb and have no clue so I will ask. I am at the last thing I need to know with a gaming laptop and that is does it matter what wireless card I get? Does the wireless card make gaming quicker or effect lag at all? These are what I am looking at please help: :)

    1-802.11 Wireless a/b/g/n + Bluetooth Combo Card
    2-Intel Advanced-N 6230 Wireless-N + Bluetooth Combo Card
    3-Intel Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250
    4-Intel Ultimate-N 6300 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless LAN with 3rd antenna mod
    5-Bigfoot networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 with two antenna
    6-Bigfoot networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 with three antenna

Those are my options and just not sure what to get for gaming. Please feel free to give me any advice on if it really matters and if so what would be good. I am not looking for great just better then normal. Thanks

P.S.-To repeat myself again on another forum it's for World of Warcraft.

Avoid first two- the first one is anonymous, the second one 6230 is known to have reduced throughput (some conflict with Bluetooth).

Unless you need WiMax 6250 doesn't make much sense either.

Last three are all good cards although Intel 6300 and Bigfoot 1103 are meant to achieve 450mbps theoretical throughput which requires a router capable of doing the same thing.

As for Bigfoot in general- don't be led to believe that it actually decreases latency or something like that- these are both good cards because both are based on a new Atheros chipset. Bigfoot is just a sticker.

Basically choose the cheapest of the three Intel 6300, Bigfoot 1102 or 1103.
Remember that Intel 6300 and Bigfoot 1103 are both capable of 450mbps so it may be an advantage if you need improved LAN transfers and plan on upgrading you network setup- if you don't it doesn't matter.

In general Wi-Fi cards do not improve gaming experience but buying a crappy card might spoil it to a degree so avoid the cheapest low-end hardware.

Thanks for the help and input. I want to also ask not that I need it but would the Intel Ultimate-N 6300 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless LAN with 3rd antenna mod also be bluetooth capable do you think?

Just an fyi, as far as I know there is no bigfoot 1103 with 2 antennae. The one with 2 is aptly named the 1102, and the card with 3 is the 1103. If its just a typo, then ignore me. :p

If you do decide to go for the bigfoot killer 1102 or 1103, just know the software isn't really any good in my opinion, but you can avoid installing it by simply using a generic atheros driver.

No and you should probably avoid card with Bluetooth- they tend to cause issues. Intel's naming scheme is to add 30 to the name if the Bluetooth is on so 6230 is a normal 6200 + BT.

I assumed the same that's why I was referring to 1102 although it is possible that they sell 1103 with only two antennas installed.
