If my WLan card isn't showing up in Device manager, does that mean it's dead?

For the past two months I've had problems with not being able to enable my wireless card, but it still showed up in device manager. Device manager said that there was an error enabling my card (code 10). According to my reseller, Code 10 is a software conflict. I added new drivers, still had the problem. I removed Norton internet security, the Wlan card was enabled when after i restarted.

Today when I turned on my computer, the wireless card was disabled. I went into the device manager to check it out again, and this time it didn't even show up in the device manager. Is my wireless card dead?

it's a good possibility given your symptoms. perhaps you could dissect your laptop and see if it's loose. maybe you can rig it fixed.
