I like to know. Is it possible if you download certain links or sites, is it possible to get a virus by them knowing your ip address? Say you download from a torrent site but do you from a different ip address and not your main one. Well doing so could still affect your computer right?

However, i assume if you download from your own ip address, its much worst? I ask this because i have own internet but where im located there is also free internet that everyone can share etc.

No. Your computer is not a server and therefore doesn't leave ports open to allow outside software to access your computer whenever they want. Nevermind that your computer is behind your router's NAT, so the computer's IP address will change, and that your router's connection to your ISP is also behind a NAT (therefore your router's IP address also changes).
