    I can't believe it.
My T42 arrived in January. I started a previous post in the IBM forum in this space about my wireless connection problems. IBM, after many hours on the phone, eventually sent me a box to return the computer, believing that it must be a hardware issue. I did not send it back, since I just didn't believe the diagnosis. I couldn't make any third-party software, such as that available from netswitcher.com or cirond's winc, work either.
Yesterday, I went back to IBM's Support page, went to the Drivers page, and lo and behold, IBM issued two updated drivers in February, one for the wireless a/b/g mini pc adapter I have and the IBM Access Connections software. According to the Readme files, you have to install both. I did.
AND NOW I CAN FIND MY HOME NETWORK WIRELESSLY.
Pardon the shouting. It truly reflects today's surprise and amazement.

That's not hard to believe that a "over the phone" tech couldn't figure out the problem. It is truly hard to figure out a problem over the phone. But to top it off the techs you get most commonly have little to no hands on experience. I know this because I worked for dell telephone support and had a very rough time. I was fresh out of Tech College with no hands on experience. Now, to top even that, outsourcing tech support! SHEESH!

Sharp AL27, Athlon 64 2700+ 60Gb hdd, 512Mb mem, 64Mb vid, superbright lcd. DVD +-/RW. Great choice for business use.
