You can't just connect a router to a fiber-optic terminal -you'd have to buy another combo like the one you have (only better).
It would make sense to bridge the Huawei so it would only work as a modem/access terminal but not the switch, router and wireless access point and connect a decent router (like the TP-Link you've mentioned) to said modem and let the TP-link handle the rest.

Not all modems can be bridged though - if there is no option in firmware to do so, you'll have to buy another combo device (not Archer C7 as it's just a router).

What sort of trouble are you having with this device?
It would make sense to bridge it if possible and buy a good router rather than be forced to buy some other combo (which will severely limit your choice)

You will use another modem or router from China anyway - most if nor all are made in China or Taiwan ;)
Do these problems are also present when you use an Ethernet cable? It does seem like a Wi-Fi related issue.

As for choosing another device - what's the actual model number of the Huawei you now have? I can't quite see it in the photo.

The choice is very, very limited as it seems.
TP-Link has a reasonable device http://www.tp-link.com/lb/products/details/cat-17_TX-VG1530.html but it doesn't seem to be available for sale anywhere.

D-Link has some that are also not offered to consumers. Netgear has none as far as I can see.

ZyXel has something that can actually be bought for reasonable money and so do Billon but these don't use the connector your need.

Unless this TP-Link is available where you live. It does look like a sensible consumer device - the only question is how much would it cost...
