Hi I have a HP G60 Laptop. The wireless button is situated just above the Keyboard, when it is ON it is Blue and when it is off it is Orange. For some unknown reason it all of a sudden will remain orange! (Off) when i manually press the wireless button it turns blue for a split second then straight back to orange. Showing WLAN Disabled!

Is there anyone out there who can explain how to enable my wireless again?

as you have all probaly guessed from this e-mail I know jack about computers!
so would be extremely grateful if someone who knows what there on about could help!!!???

    Cheers Jonny

sounds suspiciously like the problems they were having with the dv6000 series.

In that case, the wireless adapter failing like that was the first sign of the motherboard failing. HP replaced thousands of laptops under and extended warranty plan, but it did not apply to the G series as far as I know.

I'd give HP a call on this one, as I don't think we can help.

I'm sure you checked the wireless was not disabled in NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER?

You could try removing the device from DEVICE MANAGER and rebooting.

What operating system is this (i.e. XP, Vista)? If it's Vista, you can go to Start Menu > Network (as seen in this picture). Then make sure that the wireless connection isn't disabled there. If it is, right-click and Enable.

    Cheers... :)
