I would like to order a new Dell 1720 Laptop but I will need to disable the A Band or I will get clicks, pops, and skipping sounds when playing all media. I read that doing so will fix the problem. My problem is, some cards do not have that capability. My choices when ordering are:
    1) 1395 wireless 80211g (which I read cannot let A be disabled).
    2) 1505 wireless N-mini card.
    3) Next Generation N mini card.

Which one of these cards should I order with the new computer?
I owned this computer before but I sent it back because of the audio problem. But now I read that this will fix it.
    Please help.....thanks

    I'm sorry.....I didn't know any better. I do now.
Please, someone answer my above question. And, did this solve YOUR problem with the Dell Inspirion 1720?

Where did you read that this will definitely solve the issue on a 1720? I read a few threads on the Dell board, but they were all for XPS series laptops, and not all of them had success with disabling the A band. Some people reported that disabling the entire card had no effect on the problem.

I read that if you have specifically clicks, pops, and what sounds like a little skip, disabling the A band seems to USUALY fix the problem. Yes, not everyone says this works for them but I felt it was worth a try.
If that doesn't work, there is a specific NVIDIA driver...156.10, that also fixes it for some people.
