ok. recently I've changed the network key for the WEP security. And every computer at my home got "limited or no connectivity" message. We use wireless connection, using a linksys router. What do I have to do? The connection works if I turn the WEP off...but I want turn on security.

    please help me out

On every computer, click the wifi icon near your clock...

it should say connect or something similar... or even list available networks... click that....

Do you see your network listed? Does it have a lock next to it? Click it, then hit connect. It should pop a dialog asking for the network key. Type it in. Hit connect (if need be), and you should be all set.

Do that on all the computers that ever connect to your network.

Sounds like they just need to be given your 'key', and that's all there is to doing that.

If you can, set up a WPA security it is more secure, as WEP is quite easily hackable.

alright so I chose the WPA Preshared key security.
    WPA Algorithms: TKIP? or AES?
WPA Shared Key: I could just enter any key right?
Group Key Renewal:I dont know about this.

Help me set up the WPA please^^.

If you are capable of running WPA-AES...that is the best formula. AES has yet to be cracked...and it is also "hardware" driven vs WEP being software. AES encryption is done on a co-processor built into your WiFi chip....thus you lose NO speed on your connection. Set your router up for WPA-AES...put in a password you will not forget...then on each wireless connection...right click and view possible networks to connect to. Choose yours and click connect. A box will pop up asking you in input your passphrase. Type in the same passphrase you entered on your router. You should connect within a matter of seconds...and from now on...you will connect to WPA-AES.

Mind you...old b cards and even some older g cards are not capable of AES. Make sure that it is a choice on each wireless card before you do this...or you won't connect

ok well I solved the problem.

I think I might know the problem so I thought I should share it. Ok like I said, I use wireless connection. Whenever I got to the router adress and make changes and save it, I lose connection, therefore I believe the changes weren't saved.
So what I did was directly connect my laptop to the router and save the changes I wanted to make, without losing connection.
    And it works now^^.

All wireless router manufacturers recommend connecting via ethernet cable when making changes. I'm pretty sure if you review your router's documentation you'll find that statement somewhere.
