    Can any one help?

I have been having trouble with my WLAN to recognizing my home network or at work. When I click on the WLAN icon(two small computers on the bottom left) to view all networks nothing, literally nothing comes up, only the cancel button in the screen where it is suppose to show all networks. And, yes, my wireless button is 'enabled'.

So, the only way I can connect is going into the properties of the wireless 802.11g. It shows the name of the network in "site monitor" but under the "link status" it shows nothing! So, I keep on clicking on the 'network name' under "site monitor" and click on the 'freeze' then 'unfreeze' button under the 'network name'. After a few minutes it finally recognizes it.

However, once it does, the warning sign comes up right by the WLAN icon (two small computers on the bottom left), that says "there is a duplicate name on network". Can any one explain this? I only have my laptop and my home computer. No server or anything else. Just a basic lynksis router and DSL set up.

If you labelled your desktop "HOME" and your notebook as "HOME" then when you try to log onto the network, you'll get this type of error message.

If your wireless can;t locate any wireless networks, it's possible you have to turn on SSID Broadcasting on your router. Some network cards will not detect the SSID unless it's broadcast. You also have to have the correct encryption key entered for it to work.

You may want to manually add your wireless network into the list of wireless networks. Enter the SSID, & Key and you should be set.

Thanks for your reply. I just got a chance to check it now. Here's the issue: My laptop DID recognize my router last week. No problems. Now it won't recognize it at work or at home. Plus, my computer takes about 4-5 minutes to fully load up.

Plus, I can't even "VIEW ALL AVAILABLE NETWORKS". There is no way I can get into the screen to even type in the KEY for the wireless internet. ????????
