Bare with me guys...
I do a lot of downloading and stuff, and that kills my browsing experience.
Is there a program or way to make the browsers have priority over any other net sucking application?
Like, doing a 1mb/s download , but when I use the browsers, they should load the page as fast as possible and then leave the available bandwidth to the download manager....
-
Can't you do that with the QoS feature of the router?
-
I don`t use a router, simple network cable from the source.
-
That's very unsafe not to have a router!
-
I don`t waste money on things I don`t really need.
Is there an app that can do just that? -
to your question, I don't think there's any.

It depends on what type of DL you are doing. Most Torrent downloading programs will allow you to adjust the amount of bandwith the task actually take up based on your user defined settings.
-
Right, but my available bandwitdth varies with each download and # of connections, so I don`t have a generic value for the limit.
I would like to give the browsers priority on the usage of the internet bandwith, is there an app for that or do I have to spend money on a router ? -
Routerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I have a dream...
