The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm able to log into say world of warcraft but once hitting the realm page and seeing "logging in to server" it stalls out - Is there anyway to cheat the system and get around this if certain ports are closed, if it helps i attend tennessee technological university -

    tl;dr warcraft > studying, and i cant get passed log in.

    Maybe it is but apparently someone "up there" messed up the terms and it would be considered assistance in "bypassing security measures" which is not allowed under the forum rules.
    I always thought security is one thing and censorship is another but since I've seen similar threads closed it seems I'm wrong ;)

    As mentioned, our forum rules prohibit discussion of that nature. If you really want to play your games, talk to your IT/network administrators or pay for your own internet.

    FYI, if the uni finds out that you are trying to circumvent security measures, they may block you from their network or depending on the college, it might fall under academic dishonesty and that could be grounds for expulsion...
