Ok....so I just got my first laptop but have a pretty new 20" LCD monitor that I want to keep and try to run a dual monitor system.

My question is...just like they have wireless printer USB adapters, is there anything similar for the monitor so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging it everytime I move the laptop?

Basically I just want some type of adapter to put on the back of the monitor that allows me to switch to duel screen (or just the bigger monitor instead of the laptop) without having to plug in all the monitor cables...

    Does this even exist?

I think a few R&D groups are working on wireless HDMI technology that might be applicable to other tech like monitors, but the bandwidth requirements are too high for something like this to work (yet!).

Does the laptop you got also have a docking station you can get? If you connect the monitor to the docking station, then all you have to do is remove the laptop from the docking station when you want to use it on the move.

And even if you don't have docking options, there are always generic ones you could try

wireless video transmitter/reciever for monitors/TVs only problem is that its large enough to defeat his purpose for it. they are directed more towards commercial markets as well.
