How to know which wireless adapter is compatible with my laptop?

I have a Dell inspiron 13z laptop and I bought intel 6200 wifi card for it, but it does not seem to work. I am not sure if the adapter does not work, or if the adapter is not comptible with this system.

Can someone tell me which wireless adapter will work on this laptop as I need to upgrade?

    Thanks.

Any Wi-Fi card is compatible unless the manufacturer of the notebook uses whitelisting or you've bought a card meant for Lenovo laptops which doesn't work in other notebooks.
