Well, I've been wondering how can I improve the signal I get on my laptop. Im using HP 8710p + windows soft + Intel 4965AG and I get worse signal than my friends lappy which is Acer 5920 + Vista + Acer soft + Intel 3945ABG.

Why is that? Is it thanks to acer's software? Can I use something like that, and if yes, which program is good?

PS: Sorry if it has been asked before, kind of short on time at the moment.

Have you checked the coverage range of both cards? I believe both cards have the same transceiver, so the coverage should be the same, in this case I would say perhaps your internal antenna is aither blcoked or there is a mismatch with its connection to the card, check those two items.

make a small radar like thing to put on the antenna and put tin foil around it.
