My ISP provides us with a modem where you do not need a router. Thus the modem acts as the router as well.

The name of the modem is Arris tg862.

Can someone tell me how i could view the settings? Such as if i wanted to change the name of my wifi connection etc or any other settings.

Enter 192.168.1.1 on your internet browser address bar.

    If it's a Comcast-supplied modem/router, the IP address is likely 10.0.1.1.

You can also look at what your default gateway is, try ipconfig on the command line and look for the default gateway for either your wireless or wired (depending on how you are connected) enter that IP address in your web browser. Please note that if it is an ISP supplied modem/ router combo you may not even be able to view the settings let along modify them. If you want to be able to modify the settings you would need to look into buying either your own modem / router combo or a separate modem and router.
