I just did a clean install of windows 7 Ultimate on my Sony Vaio. It had Widcomm Bluetooth on it before and now it has the Microsoft on it. I would like to get rid of the Microsoft and put the Widcomm or Broadcom drivers back on it. Is there a way to do this.

Doing similar on my E6410, I just ran the installer... it replaced the MS driver. Reboot liberally. Alternate approach might be to uninstall the device in DM, install the driver, and reboot.

D/L your Widcomm driver, install it. Go into device manager and look at the driver for the BT device if it did not change back on its own then browse for the driver from the device manager and manually choose the Widcomm driver.

If you want to try something even better d/l the trial of Bluesoleil and see if it works for your card its by FAR the best BT driver/software I have ever used. My G73 is the first laptop I was not able to get it working on properly :(

I am able to get my palm device working on Bluetooth Hotsync, Bluetooth running of my radio app and surfing the web. As with the Widcomm driver to do this I had to run third party software. I use m-Router for this. The problem is there are missing protocols for my Bluetooth headset in the Microsoft stack. The Bluesoleil made my Sony Vaio freeze when ever I ran the radio app. I tried uninstalling the Microsoft stack and running the Broadcam installer application but it will not work. I even tried browsing for it in device manager but the installer app has no drivers in it. I have my XP disk set. I wish I could rip it out of there.

I took the Widcomm driver of of my Sony XP Pro disk. I had to rename an inf file so Microbrain wouldn't reload its software. I still could not get the setup to allow the bluetooth headset. I went into XP mode and installed the Widcomm driver there also. I can do all in XP mode now. Microsoft really has the attitude against using your hardware on your computer down.
