    How much internet has my laptop used

    We have an internet cap and my flatmate mentioned that you can look in windows to see how much internet has been used. Could anyone tell me how this is done as I can't find anything.

    You can access this feature by checking the status of your network connection. However, the counter is reset every time you switch connections or reboot your pc, so it's not very reliable. Look into some software alternatives.

    some routers will keep track of network traffic -- you would need to reset your router at the beginning of every pay periodm but you could use that to track combined internet usage

    Or you can go on the ISP's website and look at your bandwidth ussage.

    I just downloaded this freeware yesterday to do the same thing. Comacst is at 250 GB cap. Seems like a lot, but I have 2 laptops and kids on Xbox live constantly on the net. I'm at 8.5 gigs since yesterday about this same time with no major downloads yet. Just browsing, some streaming video, and that's just my machine.

    Anyway, very compact tool with minimal resource usage and it's free and works with Win7. Here ya go:
