    How good is Mobile Internet 3G

    I just got a new Notebook and I am thinking of connecting to the Internet using Mobile Internet 3G with a USB Internet Stick.

    How reliable is it? Should it work anywhere in a lage city (I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where I intend to use it)?

    Also how fast is it?

    How good is it, well it depends on your network and package deal. Work in your 3G coverage zone for 3G speeds or your normal mobile & edge coverage area when you have now 3G coverage. Cites you listed should be ok check your network operators for details.
    In La Reunion we have 3 main networks, orange, only and sfr each had the down falls but on the whole connection and net work were all great and fast. The down side are the cost and allowance download (rip off from orange any how)
    So main things to check are coverage of 3G services in the area you intend to use it most, cost, download allowance plus any other charge that they my add in the very tiny small print... :mad:

    don't forget that you have a bandwith limit... probably 2-5GB a month... definitely not enough for me...

    Some plans offer unlimited bandwitdh.

    FWIW, it works amazingly well--better than I expected it would. If you get cell reception where you are, the internet works. Download speeds are more than adequate for most uses with a few caveats.

    Extremely large downloads will take longer than a standard broadband.

    Gaming is problematic due to higher latency
