I have an Inspiron 1100. I added a Linksys Range Plus Wireless Notebook Adaptor (WPC100). Loaded and added the drivers for the adaptor to the laptop but only receive the message, "Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on"

$10 top Linksys tec support = 0 (they did reload the drivers) but a suggestion to contacty Dell to find where rteh switch is located (Linksys suggested it was CTRL F2).

My home wireless system uses a Linksys wireless-G broadband Router wit hspeed booster.

Im sure this is a 'duh' question. So can someone make me pleeeease say 'duh'?

The hotswitch is FN+F2. However, that only controls internal wifi devices, so pressing that key combination doesn't do anything for wifi cards in the PCMCIA slot.

Do you have BIOS A12 on your 1100? What operating system are you running? In the device manager, does your wifi card show up under network adapters? Does the wifi card have any blinking lights? Do you have all of the required notebook and system software drivers installed (visit support.dell.com and update drivers if required)?
