At least that's what I think is what I'm trying to do.

A little background. Got Lenovo Thinkpad in the summer. Had trouble getting the wireless router hookedup so the linksys technology support got me through it and set up security.

I then wanted to print wirelessly. I had an old desktop that I tried to make a "printer server". I failed misserably and gave up. My brother gave me a wireless printer for Christmas and I have been playing with it.

Here is my dilemma. I believe when I tried to make the print server, I reset all of the router settings and that old PC is the Wireless Access point for the router. Is that the right terminology? Anyway, I have been trying to figure out how to manage my router and make sure the security is right but I am now lost. I don't believe my security is set up.

Can anybody help me or lead me in the right direction? It seems like I should start over with the router and set it up again on my laptop. The desktop is gone.

You're security is set up if you look for networks, find it and there is a little lock symbol or it saying secure network. IF not, reset it and try it again. Personally, NEVER use linksys, they make bad routers. With the router, if you want to print wirelessly, you need a wireless print adapter unless you're keeping your laptop on the desk all the time.
