The below is the last few steps of instructions for enabling WPA on my DLink DI 624 router. I can not figure out the last part following "Note". I can't see how to "enable WPA-PSK on" my adapter. Is this referring to my Intel 2200B/G? If so, how do I do it?

    Thanks!

Step 5) Enter a key (passphrase). The key is an alpha-numeric password between 8 and 63 characters long. The password can include symbols (!?*&_) and spaces. Make sure you enter this key exactly the same on all other wireless clients.

Step 6) Click on the Apply button then click on the Continue button to save your settings.

Note: If you are configuring your router from a wireless adapter, you will lose connectivity as soon as you click Apply. You must enable WPA-PSK on your adapter and enter the same exact passphrase as you entered on your router.

    Hi Shepard,

That means that if you are configuring the router from your computer that is connected over current wireless connection, when you press apply the router will change the connection to the WPA protection and your computer will loose connection. It is like sawing off the branch you are sitting on! :)

So they recommend to immediately after apply you set a new connection on your computer - WPA + pass so your computer connects over WPA-PSK connection.

To avoid this you can connect your comp to the router over the UTP cable. It will always work (considering the router has DHCP set), and then you can test if the wireless works too. You can have both wired and wireless connections at the same time.

    Hope it helps, cheers,
