I have a cable moden and a notebook. When notebook's operation system was win xp home with sp2, the notebook could be connected to internet by the router wireless model. However, I change the operation system to win xp with sp1, I can't make it work with the wireless network. It just can be connected to internet by the router via the cable.

So, how can I make the laptop connect to internet by wireless network?

    Thanks a lot!

    Xmasry,

If you put on a new operating system you will have to reinstall your drivers for your wireless card. This could be the reason it will not connect.

If it is an external card you might want to install the drivers that came with the router.

If it is internal you need to research what card you have and find the appropriate drivers for it and install them.

If you reformatted from the original OS that came on the computer when you bought it ie HP, Dell or any of those have the drivers preinstalled and you will need to find them on the support page of their website. I hope this is helpful.

    thanks,USAFdude02!
I had reinstalled the driver for the internal wireless card. But it still can not work. Actually, I can find the wireless network. But when I connect to the wireless router and input the accessing password, it is said there is errer because of the code of password.

    I'd call the router company.

    Xmasry,

I have the same thing on mine. If you enter your password it will not work. Login to your router and get the SID (32 CHaracters I believe) you have to enter that. It will not accept the paraphrase as my router calls it. If that doesn't work call the router company. :D
