Hold your mouse over the Wireless Icon in your systray
Double Click the Wireless Icon - Look at General Tab

    Thanks Daacon :D

For a little more info on seeing what your wireless network is doing:
Control+Alt+Delete, and out of the tabs up top, click on the "Networking" one

You need to go through the wizard to get the machines to see each other (make sure they are both in the same workgroup ) - then you can use Windows explorer and expand My Network Places.

You actually have to set up shares in order to 'share' information. Right click on the folder(s) you want shared / choose properties / Sharing Tab and fill in / check what you would like. (there are root hidden shares but I will not get into that)

There are lots of things than can wrong (firewalls / routers / accounts on each machine / etc) but Nick's guide is a good start and for most it should just work.

    Good Luck.........dy

    hello daacon
thanks a lot for your posts...

I'm already 'taking' Internet from my work station but I'm not sharing files and folders. I'm using Intel PROset Wireless.
Which wizard should I run; the Network Setup Wizard or Wireless Network Setup Wizard.

If you already have internet access from the wirless machine there is no need to run the Wireless wizard. This is only required when you want to set up a new / first time wireless connection. And by new I do not mean after a power off an on , a new means someone else wireless network or a network with a new SSID that you have never connected to before.

Nicks guide explains this as well :D

Run the Network Wizard and answer the questions it asks
Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup (the default is calles MSHOME - it can be whatever you like it to be)
Then share a folder(s) on one or both machines (se my other post how to do this)
Then in my network places you should be able to see the machine-name and share names.
