I have a home network that has been great for me, but right now I cannot use a web browser when connected to it. My roommates aren't having a problem, and I am fine using other networks. I also can log onto AIM with my network. Any ideas?

You may want to see if you need to configure proxy settings.

Need clarification.. Do you mean you can not connect to the www or connect to the router admin?

Check to see if your firewall is blocking your connection.

I cannot connect to the www when I am connected to my wireless network.

HOWEVER, my roommates can, and I can connect to the WWW on other wireless networks.

    can you ping yahoo.com?

    can you ping 66.94.234.13

Delete all cache files for your browser and windows, then restart and try again.

Are you using mac filtering on you router? If so is your wireless MAC on the list.

I was able to PING it, seemed perfect. How do I go about deleting those caches? Also, I don't understand the Mac stuff.....

I can get on AIM, just not the browsers with my network. Every other network though it works perfectly. Also, I can connect via ethernet on my cable router, but same problem. So I don't think its the wireless router, something maybe with the cable?

For IE :To clear out cache under the internet options control panel. The General tab gives you options to clear Browser history. This clears cache, cookies, history and other temp files.

    For FF ctrl+shift+Del

    for windows:
Under the windows folder there is a folder called TEMP, open it and delete it's contents. There will be one file that you can not delete, that ok. Then restart your computer.

On your pings both by IP address and Names. It important to know if these both work.

The IP address (66.94.234.13) works, the yahoo.com does not.

This tells me the DNS server data is not being passed down.

As a work around check your connection info from the router wan connection status. You can hard code the gateway and dns numbers into you connection.

run "ipconfig /all" from the cmd window and post the results.

You can ##### out your mac addresses. or send it to me if you prefer in a PM. I need to look at all of the settings, to see where the problem may lie.

You should have some real public IP address for DNS servers. That or upgrade your routers firmware and see if corrects the problem.
