    hi i have a router to which i have two computers connected through ethernet and three laptops through wifi, the default ip address for these devices is in the range of 192.168.x.x , if i change this option to any other ip range other than 192 through my router dhcp will my network still work

    Here are the IP ranges you are allowed to use. Randomly picking IP's out of these ranges are not allowed and can raise havic on a network (www). The rest of the IP's are in registered or reserved.

    All internal networks (public use) must use these below.

    The 24-bit Block A 10.0.0.0 10.255.255.255
    The 20-bit Block B 172.16.0.0 172.31.255.255
    The 16-bit Block C 192.168.0.0 192.168.255.255

    You can change your subnet (192.168. xxx.0) away from the def IP range. You must change the gateway too or you will get an error.
