    Hello all,

I am looking for an Ethernet switch and router that have operating temperatures around 60C-70C. The switches and routers both need to have 5 LAN ports minimum.

I can only seem to find commercial grade switches and routers which go up to 40C. I am open to industrial grade products as well.

If you guys can point me to manufacturers or other forums which might have what I'm looking for it would be a huge help.

    Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. I am looking for a wired router with 4-5 LAN ports. Currently I am using a D-Link DIR-615 wireless router. I am not using the WAN port nor the wireless portion of it at all, only the LAN ports to control a network of raspberry pi's connected to a Ethernet switch.

The setup I am currently using would work except for the temperature requirement. I will be placing switches and routers in a NEMA 3R enclosure in the desert. Max ambient temperature ever recorded in my location is 120F/49C. I need the new switches and routers I choose to be able to handle operating temperatures higher than this due to heat buildup within the enclosures hence the 60-70C requirement.

Ideally, I would like to keep the switches to about $100 USD and the router less than $300 USD. I'm flexible on price but do not want to pay too much more if possible.

    Hope this helps and thanks!

    Understood.

Off the top of my head, I'm fairly certain that I remember reading about some Adtrans being spec'd to work at 185F or so but would take a guess that they're nowhere near your price range and would likely be an overkill to begin with...so back to square one...

Maybe you can mod one with a custom heatsink and possibly fan ?. Wireless router go up to 60-70 easily (the wifi portion), no clue about other components ~~)

Dragnoak- didn't see your reply there. Thanks for the link. I'll give it a gander. Thanks!

    ajkula66-
Yeah, I've look at a few models from MOXA, Westermo, Ubiquiti, MikroTik, and Sixnet. Unfortunately their prices for routers are high. The cheapest one that met my port requirement and temperature requirement was RAM6021 by Sixnet but that is $800.

    Baii-
I might have to mod the router. I don't want to if i don't have to though. If I ever get my product certified I need to make sure its in NEC code and that's just another headache for me :p
