For security reasons, I was curious if there is a way to hide or spoof my IP address without using a Proxy.

If a Proxy is the only way, is it possible to run your own Proxy server?

Sure... you can run your own proxy server, but it will have whatever IP address you run it off of. So unless you have another pipeline to the net, it'll just have the same IP address you have now.

why do you want to hide?

Your ISP, the one you connect through, is ALWAYS going to have an IP address (and times of connect, bandwidth used, etc) associated with YOUR name and home/billing information regardless of how many proxy/anonymizers you use.
