Sure. Many firewalls, both hardware and software, can do this. Perhaps a bit more information on what your intention could help us determine a best approach.

AFAIK, you can't mask/hide your IP address unless you go through a proxy server. Your ISP is your gateway, in and out. All packets sent from your ISP will have your IP address attached to them. If you send all of your traffic through a proxy server (Google for anonymous browsing), the packets will have the proxy IP and not your true IP address.

It's easy to test. Visit a forum and find someone with one of those annoying "Your IP address is ... Your ISP is ..." signatures. Before routing through a proxy, you'll see your server assigned IP address. After routing through a proxy, you'll see some random IP address.

I guess the underlying question for the original poster is what IP address?

to block your computer from accessing a certain ip address, use your hosts file. or even IE built in ratings system GL

To the original poster: If you want to prevent access to an IP address, use Sykotic's suggestion, or pick up some software like NetNanny or Norton Internet Security that will prevent access across all means of connection, not just IE. If you want to hide your IP address from others, go through a proxy.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks all. I was just curious, trying to improve security.
