    Hey guys,
I want to update the firmware on my D-Link DIR 615 router, but I'm running into a problem. When I put in the IP address I don't get the router, instead i get my DSL modem. How can I find the D-link control panel?

    Did you try 192.168.0.1?

You can always check in Windows what id the default gateway address- that would be the router.

It sounds like you (or someone else) configured the router in what is essentially Access Point mode and your DSL modem is configured to act as gateway and dhcp server.

Some routers are detected by in Windows 7 and Vista by going to NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER and then clicking VIEW FULL MAP in the upper right hand corner

(this will not work if you set your network as being in a "public" place when you originally set your network settings up--you will have to change it to a private network).

When it shows up, you can hover over the icon for the dlink and it will give you the ip address or simply double click it and your default browser will load and take you to the login page
