Hey guys, recently my network started to loose connection to the Internet, at first I thought it what because it had just rained( water got into the cables or something) but then I realized that the modem wasn't the problem. The router seemed to loose the connection to the Internet, was still connected on the network, but resetting the modem didn't fix the problem, only the router.
Ive had the router for a little over 2 years, haven't upgraded the firmware, but can their be other issues that I can look into? Or is it time to replace the router? Thx for the help guys.

My DGL-4500 is as solid as a rock! I haven't had to touch it for 18mo. What is the firmware version that you have running on the router? I am running 1.23NA without any issues.

Yes! Most definitely. I know I had stability issues initially with the original firmware on the Router.

Here is a link to the latest firmware they have for the DGL-4500.

Make sure you back up your settings before you flash the router, and make sure you use a wired connection to flash it. Do NOT flash the router wirelessly.

    Sure here's a rough guide

    1. Log into Router Web UI
    2. Click on the Tools tab at the top
    3. Click on the System link on the left
    4. Click on the Save Configuration button (to save your current setup)
    5. Click on the Firmware link on the left
    6. Browse to the new firmware file you downloaded.
    7. Click Upload to upload the firmware to the Router and update it.
    8. Once the router finishes updating it will restart and take you back to the page you were on.
    9. Go back to the system link on the Tools tab and browse to the settings file you saved earlier.
    10. Click on the Restore Configuration from File button.

Hopefully that is clear enough. Good luck and hope this solves your issues. If you still have issues we can look at what some of the settings are on your router to change them.

Yeah was attempting that all last night but when I get to step 7 it says upload fail, saying it might be a wrong file or their is to much going on the router that it can't do it at the time and to try again later, I made sure no one was on the network, had a wired connection, when clicking on the link u gave me for the FW I save as on the desktop and that's what I select for upload, but it fails everytime. Am I missing something?

It's a zip archive- I was asking did you extract what's inside- there are two files inside and you should be uploading one named "dgl4500_FW_123NA.bin"
