Ok, I never thought I would have my own home networking this complex, but it's getting more complicated due to the vertical configuration of my home, and need/want for wired and wireless on different floors.

The bulk of my networking is in my home office in my finished basement. I ran a single Cat5e cable upstairs to a repeater for notebook wireless on the main floor.

I currently have a D-Link DGL-4300 11g 10/100 router and a D-Link DSS-8+ 10/100 switch. 54Mbps is more than adequate for my needs. Great router, had it for a couple years now, and has run flawlessly 24/7.

I now have need for wired + wireless on my main floor. What hardware do I need, and how do I go about configuring the wireless on the main floor. I am assuming another 11g router with 4 port switch would work fine? I was considering putting my DGL-4300 upstairs and getting DGL-4500 for the office area. I don't really need 11N yet, but it sure would be nice. Maybe with the 11N, the signal will be enough to reach upstairs (through the floorboards, a/c ducting, wiring, pipes etc?) reliably that I won't need a repeater.

I was thinking for simplicities sake, I just need to add this D-Link DIR-625 to my main floor to my Cat5e, wired directly to my DGL-4300?

Just in case it matters, in the basement, to my network, I have three PC's, a cable to my HDTV for X360 or PS2 connection, one to my network printer, and a loose one for notebook hookup as needed, plus wireless. Upstairs, I will have an X360 and a PC hookup plus wireless for notebook. I have four ethernet ports on my DGL-4300, one for switch, one for repeater, one for gaming PC, and one for X360. Rest go on the switch since they don't need as great traffic control. I am also considering Vonage or Comcast VoIP telephone service.

    Thanks!

That would work, just make sure that your new router is your entrance from the ISP side.
