I have an old Dell Latitude D800 laptop running Windows 2000 connected via DSL cable to a new Dell XPS system running Windows7. I'm trying to connect to the internet on the Latitude using the internet connection on the XPS. I have tried to follow all instructions provided at support.microsoft.

The two computers are connected via DSL cable.

In the Latitude "Network and Dial Up Connections" window I have used the option to "Make a New Connection" and I have established two "Direct Connections" and an "Incoming Connection" but no "LAN" option is available.

I have installed drivers available on my Win2000 disk. Do I need to download any other drivers or need any hardware I'm not understanding?

How do I get it to recognize the XPS internet connection as the way to connect to the internet as opposed to trying to dial-up somewhere?
