I just bought two laptops from Dell and got their wireless card. I also got Bellsouth DSL.

With the Bellsouth DSL I just got their modem and I am using it now. I want to set up a wireless connection so that both of my laptops can connect to the internet wirelessly. Do I need a wireless router or just a WAP?

    Any suggestions? What brand? Model?

I've always used a wireless router .. never tried a WAP. I like Linksys, but Netgear is also good.

You need a router. Not an access point. I reccomend the linksys wrt54g router. It has always been good to me. Like Chutsman said, linksys and netgear are the best ones.

I don't know how good it is .. I like to have an external antenna on them.

I was going to get that router, its almost like the new version of my linksys wrt54g. But that came out after i got mine. Should be very good. Linksys has very good products and will be satisified.

Wow! That review was awesome! I haven't quite made up my mind yet, it is either this compact one or the WRT54G. I still have to figure out how to set up my wireless network once I get the thing so that is a different topic!

Lol, just go with this one. I have the Wrt54g router and i love it. Its up to you, just pick the cheapest one. Yeah, when you get it, ask me anything on it.
