I just set up a Bellsouth DSL modem without any problems. However, when I tried to add a Linksys WRT54G v5 it wasn't able to connect to the internet.

I went back to modem only (dsl) and downloaded the latest firmware and tried to install it on AOL dial-up (the only way I could access the system page and have the router connected at the same time) but I'm not sure if it took.

While the router connected to dsl I had wirelss signal on my laptop but still connect to the internet.

    Anyway, any ideas?

have you been able to access the internet via the dsl modem using network cable plugged directly to your modem and laptop?

I had the same problem, make sure in the field in the linksys set-up where you type you bellsouth username and password, in the username, type your whole email address instead of just the front so it would be like [email protected] rather than john smith and your password.

    Try that. :)

Yeah I can use either computer and be on the net by just switching the ethernet wire from either computer. Human router!
