    Help needed to setup wireless internet

    Hi,
    This is Madhu from India.I am getting a sont T260PL notebook in 2 weeks time.I have a broadband connection at home Modem through which i connect to my PC to browse.I want to know whether its possible to browse wirelessly using this connection on my sony notebook.If so can someone please explain what all i need to buy and how to set it up properly step by step.Thanks in advance for the help.

    You need a wireless router, like this:

    Your Sony laptop has a wireless card built in. You connect your broadband connection to the router. Then your laptop will see it and you can connect like similar to a wired router. Good Luck.

    What will be the range of these routers.For example if i have my modem in one room will i be able to browse with my notebook in another room?

    Depends on the router some have better range than others. The card inside the laptop will affect the range, but it should work in another room. Mine goes from one end of the house to another.
