I am getting ready to purchase a new laptop. I need to start getting organized at home and have a home office set up that runs flawlessly to help me stay on top of things. Aside from the usual, we will be facing home renovations and repairs soon, and I will have a project going on of putting old photos and home movies onto the computer.

Right now, we have two laptops in the house, no desktop, a wireless network with DSL, and a deskjet printer that is just ok but is not in the wireless network and is a pain.

I would like to add peripherals that will all work together with a Mac and with each other on a home wireless network that will help keep me organized and on track with these upcoming projects.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    adam

If you use the Apple Airport Extreme, you should be ok. The AE has usb ports for printer and usb hd. It's a dual band router 2.4 and 5ghz.

    Hi blue...

I guess I will have to see if I need that. Right now I have a Dell router and my daughter's MacBook that she just got at Christmas just came out of the box and started working, no problem.

So, I think I will try a new printer AIO with my old network setup first before buying an Airport E. I did not set this network up and don't really understand networks, and the person who helped me with it is not a Mac user, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

    Thanks :)
