    Hi

I wanted advice to be able to bridge a Belkin F7D3302 v1 (with latest FW) into an existing Apple "network" consisting of 2 Extreme's and one Express... Yes, i needed an extensive setup as such, because this was the cheapest and easiest option to deploy and manage amongst parents (and meself) who are not "as network savy" as the crew here in NBR

secondly the house is constructed as such and has thick cement blocks which make the network streched (to say the least), so inorder to avoid network dead spots and a seamless wireless experience

i have a company orginating ADSL modem, which uses the house's existing CAT5e lines to send the internet to a Apple Extreme which is bridged to the ADSL modem, which then "relays/extends wireless-ly to the remaining extreme and express...

by this method the tv lounge and dining room and my parents, sister and to some degree i have a bare signal in my room, i wanted to boost the signal using the Belkin F7D in such a way that 1) it is seemless as the apple network, 2) it extends the range to cover my room and the room below...

sorry for hte extensive description, but any advice would be fantastic

    1) i have tried make the belkin go into AP mode on the wireless... however once i confirm the IP and restart it, i get a "unable to resolve proxy" to access the router's home page (DHCP is disabled on the belkin as per bridging rules)

    thats it///thanks

Did you connect the cat5 cable to LAN on WAN Port? You should connect through the LAN port so the main stream router will handle all of the DHCP functions.

I havent been able to get INTO belkin's screen once i disable dhcp, on lan and and or on wifi, it just states proxy error when i try to get back into the routers setup page, all of the configurations have done so far are thorough ethernet, connected to the the numbered ports and not through the WAN

What are the odds! I did exactly the same and out of sheer desperation hit the hard reset button, but was stuck in same mode where it allocates an IP Address when connected to the LAN port, but no other action. The green light was lit and stays despite there is no internet whatsoever!

Then called the customer support and restarted it :
    1. Plug it to power socket
    2. Plug a wire in the grey hole and to the computer/laptop
    3. Press and hold the RED reset button for 15 seconds

    You should have it working.

As regards to the AP, apparently you should not change the IP Address when you configure it as an AP.

will test this tomorrow and post an update here.

I have a Netgear router for almost 6 years which I have reset like 100 times, never faced such problems. I hate Belkin.
