You get nothing because you need to enter the proxy settings (mainly HTTP) in your browser. Get this from the network administrator.

well, clearly dhcp isn't working as it is supposed to... you're not getting a valid ip address from your router. tried resetting it?

yes, you are obviously not getting necessary info from the router.

remove all security first and try to connect. if you are successful, then try adding whatever security you use layer by layer.

    Step 1) Reset the router
Step 2) go to ipconfig then type "ipconfig /release"
Step 3) then type "ipconfig /renew"

    see what that does.

sometimes things can be oddly finicky. for instance, there's a network (wired) that only works for me if i disable the connection in the Network Connections folder, and then reenable it once I've plugged in the ethernet cable.

At a friend's house, I was trying to connect to their WEP-encrypted wireless connection, and the exact same thing happened to me as is happening to you. I think it's likely that I mistyped their WEP password into my laptop, but I also reset their router, so one or the other was my problem.

Have you tried wires, or the Atheros wireless utility, if it came with one?

I can plug in the wires and it works fine I'm actually pluged in now. Same connection problem with the Atheros Utility
