Fresh out of the box w/:
    T7200 2.0 Ghz
    2 GB Ram
    160 GB Hard Drive
    WiFi Link 4965AGN
    Vista Home Premium

The wifi card has no problem detecting wireless routers around the laptop. The problem is that it won't connect to the internet and sometimes not even to the router. Usually it will only let us connect to the router, but keep it "Local Only".

I pop open the network/sharing center and there's a green line between my computer and the router, but a fat red "X" between the router and the all important internet symbol.

Once or twice it connected, but only for a minute or two before collapsing into dismay...These are not run of the mill 1 or 2 bar spots...This is starbucks where I'm 5 feet away from the router...it says it has an excellent connection...

Any suggestions on what this might be?

Vista tried it's best to "repair" the problem, but didn't do anything to help...

On a side note for those with Inspiron E1405's w/Vista...

When I open my laptop from sleeping/hiberation the screen flickers a few times. I was wondering if that was normal? b/c I've never seen a laptop do that before...I got the true bright + glossy + ultrasharp...Anyone else run into that?

    Any help is appreciated!
