Go to there website and look for the firmware downloads. Then also check if anything can be interfereing (Cordless Phones, TV's, etc.

Ok thanks but I know that where my wireless network is at there is a lot of interfarence (two-way radios, cel phones cordless phones etc.). And it can not be moved, my wireless router is in a trailer (metal) and is about 60 feet from where I am at. I tried putting a repeater but this only bounces of the allready weak signal from the wireless router to where I am at.
That is why I started to look at other options to make my signal strenght better and saw this Hawkingstech signal booster (HSB2) I did not buy this as yet because I don't know if it will work for me. I hope I have explained my situation better this time.
If any of you guys can give me some advice on this issue I would highly appriciate it.

Thanks in advance for the replys.

P.s.: nickspohn thanks for the reply I hope I explained my problem better this time.

    You did and thank you

Well like you said, since the router is in a metal trailer, and there is a lot of interference, i would say go into the routers settings (type your ip address into where you would type a websites address). Then switch the channel to 11 and see if this works. If this doesnt work, then i would really consider replacing your router with an A router instead of B/G. An A router operates on a different frequency (5GHz instead of 2.4GHz) and there will be a lot less frequency problems as for example cordless phones are on that frequency. Hope it helps and good luck.

Thanks Nick, so if I ad this signal booster I saw will it help me or won't it? If I do replace my router with an A router would the wireless b/g devices work ok with this router?

P.s.: I forgot to mension that there is also a building between the trailer in wich my wireless router is at and where I am at and there are also metal structures.
(My wireless network is at work and I work in a refinary).

I wouldnt get the booster just to be safe for not but really get the A router. Also, if your wireless card supports A (example Intel 2915 Card) then all you would need is the router. If not then you need the A card. Since your in a akward placement of this, i really cant tell and no one can how this will turn it out. Make sure you can return these items before getting them. If the A router doesnt work, then try the booster nad if that doesnt work, you might just need to run an ethernet cable from the modem to the router and move the router in the refinary.

A perfectly sealed and grounded metal box is called a "Faraday box", and will completely block electromagnetic radiation. This is what the military uses for communication security and EMP protection.

If the trailer has windows, your best reception would be along a line-of-sight thru the window to the router.
