I have the linksys wrt54g router. A few nights ago I installed Hyperwrt firmware onto it. Since then my router has locked up twice. It does not transfer anything or do anything. The only way I can make it work again is if I unplug it and then plug it back in. Any ideas?

The second time I was running it through ethernet but I cant remember the first time.

What is the version # on your router? Hyperwrt firmware is only good on WRT54G : V1, V1.1, V2, V2.2, V3

Have you tried resetting the router, press and hold the reset button for 5 sec. This restores it to the factory settings, then configure it back to your settings. Is there any way to restore the it back to the linksys firmware (prior to hyperwrt)? You may want to try and flash the lasted linksys firmware, but I'm not sure if it will take it.

yeah i could do that the only problem is that I want to use the hyperwrt firmware because I torrent a bit and the linksys firmware tracks connections for five days, fills up the ram in the router, and renders it useless until i reset it...
