After installing a software, I was not able to see any surrounded networks.

my laptop switch is enabled but seems like it's a software issue, I updated the wireless driver with no luck.

Any idea how to enable the wireless again?

    Which OS ?

Ok, which ever....RUN > Services.msc > Scroll to the bottom > Double Click WLAN Autoconfig > Start (or set to Automatic if reqd)

See if that helps in anyway.

If that doesn't fix it u can try a System Restore!

And it would be Wireless Zero Config. service in XP.

there is nothing called "WLAN Autoconfig"

If you mean "Wireless Zero Configuration" , it's started already.

    Thanks
